"I would walk 500 miles..."

Attention! Please read and take action! Mobilize your friends and family!

In the true spirit of Top Gear's Jeremy Clarkson and Virgin's Richard Branson, setting off 19th of December, me and my partner are going to drive all the way from Edinburgh to Western Sahara.

Over the few weeks of winter 2009/2010 we will cover over 3500 miles what will require 67 hours of driving… each way!

All that for
a still little known project which operates in Morocco under Virgin Unite called the Eve Branson Foundation. The Foundation’s operations are based in Morocco’s Atlas Mountains around 45 min drive from Marrakesh city. It’s a region rich in beautiful sights but very poor in opportunities, especially for Moroccan women.

The project is involved in helping women from villages from adjacent mountains to learn new skills and therefore earn a living, but also is concerned with helping the wider community, including the local orphanage and school.

Are you wondering if there is anything that you can do to help?

Of course there is!

How YOU can help:

Any support, especially in form of donations is kindly welcome.
These may come in either of three different forms:

A) your hard earned £ B) physical items C) both A & B

The hard-cash funds raised before we set off will be used to purchase various items from the local sustainable supply that will be auctioned off online upon our arrival back in the UK, with all the profit going back to Eve Branson Foundation.

The physical help needed the most includes: clothes, shoes, socks, pencils, pens, writing pads, school bags, blankets, small TV sets, toys for children. Please feel welcome to donate anything that could be deemed useful by poor people living in harsh conditions. We will deliver all collected items – they will be distributed directly to the most needing from the village communities.

Remember - we need YOU to act! Today.

DONATE NOW

So please dig into your shed/wardrobe/box-room to find the stuff you hardly ever use and wanted rid off anyway and show what Christmas is really about - giving!

Thank you very much for your generosity!
